The hosts are very welcoming and you will feel like you have known them for years when you meet them. They are very easy going and love people. They will be glad to let you tour the campground, get a feel for the campsites and can answer any question you may have.
At Town Creek Campground, you can find a variety of camping pads. Some are sewer ready, some are not. All of them have water and electricity hook ups. Some of them are right on the water’s edge and you can fish from your camping site! If you love to fish, and you love BIG fish, then you need to bring your fishing gear. There are always fishermen on the banks and out in boats at all hours of the day and night.
There are three sections to this campground. The first level is not near the water. It is just strictly camping. You can put an RV on the camping pad or pitch a tent on the gravel pad. Most people with small children like to camp in this level. It is generally quiet and the traffic is minimal.
The middle level is on the banks of the tailwater. The water is not active. Boats do dock there at fishing spots. There are playgrounds in each level. Both of these levels are close to the swimming area. The walking distance from level to level is not a far distance.
The upper level is right on the water’s edge. You have a fantastic view of the river. There are barges that travel up and down the river at all times. You can hear the rumble of the tug boat engines any hour of the day or night. Some of the barges are three wide. These are enormous. I don’t see how they float!
The scenery is awesome! The hiking trails are great along with bike trails, too. You will find the restrooms clean and the hot water is ever flowing! So next time you are in West Point, Ms., and are looking for a great campground, come on in and stay a while!
