What's happening folks!!
Whew.. There was Christmas and now we're almost in February, what the heck happened? We just went forward and it's flown by like crazy that I can hardly keep up sometimes! But I am okay with it. That just means that we are pushing forward, growing, and learning. I hope I am open to that, I really do. I think I can say I am. How about you? The start of a year always promises ourselves to do this or that, yet do we stick with it?
One of the things I am really focusing on is balancing all that I am doing and being okay in it. I work PT, volunteer, run a home, take care of my family, do bible studies, and try to exercise too. It may not seem much compared to you, but I have gotten myself in a rutt with working out and just stopped. I have been fighting it too when just the other day I realized that it was okay. I could stop and stop fighting within of beating myself up of not going. I am just not going to go until I am ready again. I haven't any excuse other than I don't feel like it. Feels good to let it go!
On the home front, we've got a lot going on! This past weekend we took a trip to Vaschon Island to look at 2 potential puppy's. I know they aren't puppy's but that's what I call all dogs, so puppy's it is! This isn't our first trip, as the three of us went the first time to look at a potential puppy, which didn't turn out so great. But the foster family is amazing and we really wanted to keep working with them so we went back his time with Drew. Always fun to be with the 4 of us!
It was a beautiful day and since we missed the first ferry we were able to just hang around. I actually brought my camera, which is something I haven't done in a very long time! Super fun! Look at Drew with this sweatshirt we gave him for Christmas and my scarf that Alyssa gave me too! Awh.. Cute stuff!
The foster family has an amazing house. When I say amazing, I cannot even begin to describe it. It's like a hotel its that big and beautiful. But the biggest thing is their hearts. They love dogs and working with second change dogs helps everyone out! The two times we have been there, 14-20 dogs have been present. Isn't that amazing? They are amazing people and they love dogs and will fly at the drop of a hat to go save a dog! There were two dogs that she sent photos of and we loved them both. If we could get two dogs we would for sure. I love dogs. I miss Jake and Kira so much, still after all this time. When we went to visit, we met 6 dogs. Fell in love with them all. We had 4 dogs in mind and we left still not sure. We got back on the ferry and decided to allow each of us to tell us pros and cons of the dogs and why. We narrowed it down to three dogs and came home and prayed.
Just the other day, we narrowed it down to two and we have decided on him.
Say hello to Bentley!
Isn't he precious! Oh we think he is so cute and playful too! He looks so much cuter in person and I am sure you'll be seeing many more photos of him soon enough to show him off! We don't know too much about him (his past) the only thing we know is he was saved from the Spokane shelter that was going to put him down He wasn't doing very well there and they called the foster family and she drove to get him straight away. He's been there for a few weeks and is doing really well. He's so soft, cute, and loveable too! We love him a lot! Hopefully this weekend we'll be going to get him and bring him in to our family! So excited, I love how scruffy he is!
On other topics, we are moving! Goodness I could pee my pants sharing this with you! Woot, woot! We've signed a lease for an apartment and are moving very soon! All 4 of us are anxious to get our own space and make it ours. The kids are doing well too. Drew's moved to indoor soccer right now and playing hard. Alyssa is on the debate team at her school and doing some serious debating something I didn't know she was in too, but totally cool! Mitchell is working, playing soccer, and about to build us some furniture! I am working, and volunteering. Our lives are just like yours, busy. But we keep grounded within our faith!!!
This is a good time in our lives. God is showering us with many blessings and I am mindful of the trials and tribulations that he brings us through to learn and grow. While our lives have had much of that, I am reminded that we stand steadfast as a family and pull through it with Him and together! The glory is to God and his grace!
Hoping that your news is good stuff too and if not, hang in there! I am a testimony to God's grace!
