The F in Funny!

Got another scrappy share for you today!!!!
This time up its another challenge from
Scrapping Everyday Miracles, with challenge #5!

For this challenge we were to scrap a funny photo. On a recent weekend, I told Dayv that he and I needed some new "us" photos together. We got busy one weekend and took at least 250 photos of us together! I can't say that every one of them turned out really great. We had great fun doing it, but by the 250th one, we were a little more than done. 1/2 way through, we started to get silly and started laughing a lot. Our photos fit perfectly with challenge 5, so I couldn't wait to scrap them!!!! Even though we look horrible, we were laughing our butts off in this photo and that pretty much sums up our relationship!!!

May you find yourself being funny with your family too!!!

The adventure has begun!!!

After counting down oh about 150 days it's finally here.....

Girlie cruise 2011!!!!
Please if you would think or say a prayer for my flight, our entire trip, and safety too!!!
Be on the look out for many pre-posts popping up while I am sailing away to the beautiful Bahamas!!!!!
I'll be back online on the 8th!!!
Toodles!

Christmas in July!

I don't know where this tradition started but you can always see things about Christmas in July! While I find it a tad bit funny, I have to admit that Christmas makes me smile. So when I have seen projects out and about or things in stores for Christmas in July, I just smile and some where in the back of my mind lingers the holiday that I truly do love!

And because of that, I too have Christmas in July to share! LOL.
I created this for SRM Stickers.
It's a card and ornament set!

I had been saving these papers because I truly loved them! I didn't even use them this past holiday season because I loved them too much! But when I received the newest CHA Fancy Sticker Sentiments #55002 Christmas stickers from SRM Stickers I knew that I wanted to use the papers with those stickers!!!!

So admit it, did you think about Christmas in July too?
After all Christmas is only 5 months away!!!!!

Lucky.

It's Tuesday! It's Tuesday!
I am counting down the days until I leave for my trip!
Got 2 more days of work and 3 days until my girlie cruise adventure starts!
I guess you can say I am pretty excited!
Although I have to admit, I am having a hard time at work. I really have short term-itis right now and being at work is hard. It was the longest 6 hours of my life yesterday!! LOL. Hopefully it will go by a little faster for me.

Got a quick card to share with ya today!
I did this recently for SRM Stickers.

Isn't all that green adorable!!! I love it against the black and white too!
I used SRM Stickers Quick Cards #52033 Lucky stickers. They debut at CHA this year and are just as adorable as all of their other stickers!!!!

Maybe you're feeling lucky too!!

Where we are.

Why hello there!
It's the start of the weekend! Do you have great plans? We have none. None is the way I like it!! My favorite way to spend the day!

She.

Came home from camp this week with tons of stories!
Is about to start another camp with CYT, Hairspray.
Is doing marching band with her new HS and is very excited about it!
Is getting a room make-over when I come home from girlie cruise.
Is growing up so fast!

Me.

I have 4 days of work left.
6 days until the girlie cruise!
Waiting to hear about school {could you please think of me or say a prayer. We are still awaiting to hear word on D's GI bill and if I'll be able to use it to go to school}.
Had a major cleaning bug as of late and went through our entire house.
Been working out hard and pushing myself now that I am going to the gym in the afternoon I have more time to spend in there. I am feeling wonderful!
I am really loving apple/cinnamon smells right now.
Can't wait to get fingernails! I can't have them for work, but the day I quit I will have them!
Got her hair did, I love it!

 Him.

Is finally getting color on his new tat's.
Has a new job and it is very stressful, but a blessing because he is in the office and won't deploy as much if at all.
Is going to school in the fall with me!
Has leave while on girlie cruise and is going to fish every. single. day.
Doesn't like his picture taken! Ha.

I am grateful...

1. For wonderful customers who really look forward to talking and seeing me daily.
2. That I will be able to stay home, go to school, and be there for Alyssa when she starts school.
3. That I have friends that no matter where we are, still are my friends.
4. For a husband that not only loves me, but thinks I'm funny too!
5. To live in a wonderful home.
6. For God's nudge when I am convicted.
7. Asking for forgiveness to someone and having them accept that.
8. Color.
9. Doing nothing.
10. My beautiful family.

I have been working on getting all of my projects completed before I leave!! Busy at my desk creating! Hope you are creating too!

Songs that affect.

We've all got them, don't we? Songs that make us go back in time. Songs that bring us to tears. Songs that were played during a special moment in our lives. Let's face it, music is important to everyone including me!
There isn't a day that goes by that there isn't some kind of music on or touches me greatly.
This song in particular affects me like no other...

This song for me speaks of how I try to do it on my own but in truth I am not alone.
This challenge is a challenge that shows how a song inspires us to see miracles in our lives.
I see mine daily with this song because each and every time I try to do it on my own, I realize I simply cannot.

Here are the lyrics to this song
On My Own
Barlow Girl

I can't believe that I'm here in this place again
How did I manage to mess up one more time.
This pattern seems to be the story of my life
Should have learned this lesson by the thousandth time
'Cause I promised myself I wouldn't fall
But here I've fallen
I guess I'm not as strong as I thought
All I can do is cry to You
Chorus
Oh God You have to save me
You're my last and only hope
All my right answers fail me
I can't seem to make it on my own
Always thought that I would be strong enough
What made all of them fall couldn't take me down
Yeah, did I think that I was above it all
I have learned that pride comes before the fall
I can't promise myself that I won't fall
'Cause here I've fallen
I know I'm not as strong as I thought
All I can do is cry to You
Chorus
On my own....
Yeah, yeah
God you have to save me
Your my last and only hope
All my right answers fail me
I can't seem to make it on my own
on my own, on my own.
yeah, yeah, yeah.

I expressed this challenge not using photos, but using the lyrics to this beautiful song!
Here is my challenge project.

Along with this challenge, we were to use Paper Loves Glue Ribbons and Free Pretty Things For You Embellishments. Not only did I receive the ribbon I chose to do the DT project with, but I also bought about 6 more colors from her! I love that ribbon! I am sure you will see it on many of layouts soon! I also loved the wonderful digital images that were sent to us as well!
I also created 2 cards that used both of these cool and fun sponsors!

Hope you find your song too!!!

Finally.

I can finally say that I was able to get off the couch and do stuff today! I ran a few errands then came home and took it easy.  A little later I got up and sat at my desk for the first time in several weeks.

I recently came upon a really fun site called Birds of A Feather. They have monthly challenges and I decided that was a great place for me to start! So I sat down and created these.

I actually started a couple a few days ago, but wasn't feeling up to it so I just laid them aside to when I was feeling up to it and that day was today! It felt great to get back in our den and be creative! I did have to lay down after I was finished but it was a nice reprieve.  I am slowly working on some DT responsibilities too, so look for some fun stuff soon!

I am very excited as tomorrow morning we are going to see the last HP movie!!! We are going at 10am! We did this with the last movie a day after it came out and there was hardly anyone in the theaters, love that! Are you excited about HP too? We are excited, but sad its coming to an end....

So what have you been up to lately?

Life in a nutshell...

Why hello there! Its just lil' ole' me.
I thought I'd share what was going on with me and my life.
You see since last Friday I've been couch-ridden. Is that a word? It is now! Anyway. Friday night I took a short nap right? When I woke up I had a little kink in my neck. Dayv rubbed it and I took some Advil for the pain, we went to bed. I woke at 3am not able to move my neck at all. I literally couldn't get out of bed or move at all. It was so bad, Dayv actually had to help me get up. So he set me up on the couch and I laid there until about 11, then we decided to go to urgent care. So we went and there I got a shot and a letter to stay out of work for 3 days. The doctor never did actually tell me what was wrong, but came back in after the shot 15 minutes later and finally gave me some heavy meds. We came home, and Dayv set me up again on the couch. I pretty much slept the day away taking those pills of and on.  So it's now Monday and I am sitting on the couch. Dayv called the doctors on base and they referred me to another doctor. This time when we went, she took me off one of the heavy meds, gave me another one, and put a label on what was wrong. Torticollis. Which is a big name for neck spasms. Interesting huh? I thought so. Dayv calls my boss again to tell him I am not going to come into work until Monday the 18th.  Today is the first day I've actually been able to get up and move around. I am feeling a tad better, but I am weak and my neck hurts. I am taking it easy until I go back to work because that pain isn't something I want to have keep happening. It was worse than having a baby, I tell ya! All I have been doing is sleeping! But that is exactly what the second doctor wanted me to do...

Dayv's been doing everything around the house as well as carting Alyssa to her various activities.  He is the best! Alyssa has been helpful too when D is off to work. I have the bestest family ever! Even the dogs sense somethings going on cause I am laid up so they have been extra good. All I really care about is getting back to normal, finish my time at my job, and then go on my cruise!!!

Alyssa has been working a small side job with our church this summer. She's picking up trash and such at the baseball games. All the money they make is going to camps they can attend at a later time. She's gearing up for her senior high camp as well as a CYT camp too. We can hardly believe summer is going by so fast! We also got a letter for her concerning band for the up and coming year! It was exciting getting it in the mail. She's going to do concert band as well as marching band. They are taking a huge trip in April as well to San Francisco!!! It's really exciting.

Dayv has a new job. Although he doesn't sew on his new stripe until Oct. time frame they have stuck him in an office doing flight chief work. I know he likes taking care of his troops and hasn't told any horrible stories thus far. But it seems like he's always doing paperwork of some sort. I don't know if this sits well with him though, but we are thankful of him not having to go off on trips all the time.

Well there isn't much going on right now. Life laying on the couch is hardly entertaining! But it is needed! Hope you are fairing well my friends!

SRM Stickers+CHA

A bit ago I was asked by Susan to create some cards for this year's CHA. I happily said I would and then realized that I committed to making cards and well we all know cards are hard for me! But I wanted to have SRM showcased on something I created, so I went to town!!! And guess what? I adore each and every card I created!!!
Each of them make me so happy!!!
Take a look!

They were fun to make and I felt honored being a part of CHA this year!!!

The rest of it!

Hello friends! How are you doing today? Great I hope!
My day was a good one. I had a root canal on Tuesday, stayed home from work on Wednesday to nurse it and am doing a lot better now! It's really hot here and I am enjoying it, although we still have to get our compressor pumped in our car with air so we can get the AC working again! It's too hot to have the windows down. Although every morning we enjoy having the window open in the house. At least until the late AM we can and then we have to turn on the AC too! But it's beautiful out and our garden is quite lovely!

On to scrappy goodness!
As you know, I was the July GDT member for GCD Studios and I shared this layout with you already but there was more! I had so much fun creating these!! Go check out their July kit, you'll love it!

I have 15 working days left. Those are the only days I have to work the rest of this month and I found out today that I don't actually work on the 29th like I thought! I am VERY glad at this and am counting down the days! Just like my cruise!!! We are at 22 days! I am SO excited!!!

Grateful for:

1. This photo because we had a wonderful 4th of July!
2. Dayv coming home safely.
3. Movie nights with Alyssa.
4. Doing absolutely nothing.
5. The joy of the Lord!
6. Colorful gardens.
7. Painted toe-nails.
8. Being a girl.
9. Deep spiritual conversations.
10. Being woken up by the Lord in the middle of the night. Even though I don't want to get up, I am thankful by being obedient and listen to the Lord. I am blessed every single time. No matter how much I fight getting up. Getting up means that the Lord is having one-on-one and I need that.

Hope that you are finding something to be excited about too!!!
Do take care, my friends!

A new day-SEM challenge #3

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!!!

May you have a wonderful day! It is a day of gratitude for our freedoms!

Okay so its time for another challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles!!!
Make sure you stop by the blog so you can see what's going on!

I am excited to share this layout with you. This challenge is one that I experience every single day. A. New. Breath.

journaling: means I've been given another breath. This makes me feel blessed to do his will.

I know that it is something we just do daily. We wake up and we just go about our day, don't we? But for me I am always amazed when I wake up daily that I am alive and have another day to do the Lord's will in my life. It kinda makes me excited to know I've just been given another day!

How about you? What says a new day to you and what does that mean for you, share with me!

Blast Off part 2

Scrapbooking for me comes in spurts. There are times where I am sitting at my desk for days and then I go through periods where I am not scrapbooking at all. This is fine with me and works because when I do sit for days, I create stuff I really do love!!! And for me, the break is a good one in between times because I have other things going on!

But sometimes when I create a bunch of stuff, I'm talkin' like a BUNCH of stuff I forgot to photograph I giggle! My room isn't very clean because I have been working on stuff as of late and I posted my Blast Off layouts with Scrapbook Circle Friday. Well I came into my room yesterday afternoon and realized that there were 2 cards peeking out from the other projects sitting on my desk!!! LOL. I forgot to take photos of the 2 cards that I created!!!!
So I thought I'd post there here so you could see!!! I feel like a ditz, let me tell ya!

So as I was standing here looking at my huge mess it dawned on me to do a major clean in my space!!! I often do this because I can't stand mess, clutter, or to be unorganized! So it really worked out that I forgot the cards because now I am going to clean, crazy I know!
Happy day folks!

Blast Off!!!

This month's kit from Scrapbook Circle is called Blast Off! You can see why the name was picked!

Isn't that a cute kit? I think so. I had fun working with colors I don't normally use that's for sure and each element just rocked together!!!

Here are my layouts using this month's kit!

See there! I told ya I have been scrapping!!!! It feels great. Still plugging along on the rest of my GCD Studios stuff too!!!
Hope that you have a great Friday!
