60 days!!!

I've waited ages to post this!

60 days and still counting til I go on my cruise with my wonderful friends!

I simply can't wait!

Sacrifice And Reason

This is Memorial Day.
The holiday commemorates members of the U.S. military who died while in military service.
Because many who died in military service were killed in war, they are honored for making possible the continued freedom of our nation, and keeping it of the people, by the people and for the people. Through their efforts, we are able to enjoy and benefit from the fruits of the American way.

Today is really about sacrifice and reason.
Without that, we would not be here.

Currently.

listening : To this. Every single time I sit at my desk to scrap. I really love this soundtrack.
eating : Doing okay. Sweets are still a hard one for me. Went completely clean as of Wednesday.  I was ready.
drinking : Loads of water as usual. Hot tea in the morning which is weird cause I never did this during winter.
craving : Sweet stuff. I can't seem to kick it. But as you can see above, whether I am ready or not, I am going too...
wearing : Pj's of course and my pink plaid robe!
feeling : Very tired, worn out, and peaceful.
weather : Over cast, but beautiful outside because I can see our front yard and we've finished gardening and planting on Wednesday. We carved out some time and actually finished it. I only need to add a few smaller plants in our garden to finish it off and add the bark. When its finished I'll take photos.  Naming our new trees, George and Harriet. SO exciting and beautiful!
wanting : To finish project on desk. Scrap something, but what?
needing : To do a tidy up the house.
wondering : If I can pull off not eating anything bad for me from May 26th-July 30st.

Grateful for:

1. Being able to do play committee with Dayv. He is one of a handful of fathers that are either able to help out or will.
2. Seeing beautiful things all around me.
3. Alyssa not having a ton  of things to do this summer so we can all rest!
4. Women in my life who have gone the distance.
5. The Lord wooing me back to him. Yes he is always with me, but sometimes in my busyness of life, I tend to slack off. I love the gentleness of the Lord.
6. Schedule changes that will work completely for our family. I'll be working M-F days now.
7.Creativity that was put inside of me.
8. Eating healthy.
9. Taking naps because we all need them.
10. Making lists.

Don't forget about this blog hop, its going to be loads of fun with inspiration and prizes too!

Gearing up for June!

I don't know about you, but I'm ready! I am SO ready for the lovely weather and evenings that are where we live! I am ready to don shorts, cami's, and flip-flops too!but alas I don't know as I sit here looking out my window why the heck its still trying to be cold. We had a beautiful week last week and now? Not so much. It's so windy that our new trees George and Harriett are blowing around horribly... But our garden looks amazing!!!!  I sure hope that wherever you are that you are ready too if you aren't already enjoy it!

Do ya know how much I enjoy these kits? A LOT!

So when I got it in the mail the other day I knew I wanted to just sit down and create. Even though as of late our time is spent doing the play, play, play, and more play activities I finally felt the need to sit down and create. So sit is what I did! And I pumped out all of these! Makes me giddy!!!

Go check this kit out and get one for yourself too!

It is today!

Hello peeps! It's raining here today but I like it. Sometimes the rain is good for one's mood and today is that day for me. I have off, but we are doing the play thing the next two days all day so its not really a day off! But I am stoked about tonight because we are going to buy some new trees for our front yard. Unfortuntely, Fred & Martha didn't make it so we have to replant them.

I have some SRM Sticker projects to share with you!!!
I really love working with these stickers!!!

I love how easy SRM Stickers go on and are wonderful to work with too! Be on the lookout for some more projects I created using SRM Stickers!!!!

Hope your day is sunshine-y even if its raining outside! Our days are after all what we make of them, so chose joy today! I know I will!

#157 CS

Hi ya!
It's time for another fun sketch with Creative Scrappers!!!

sketch 157

Here's my take:

Having a puppy is like having a new born baby in the house! It's taking time and diligence to stay on top of her but we are slowly and surely getting into a routine and she's fitting in like one of us!

Hoping that your days are spent enjoying your family too!

It's all about love!

Don't ya just love when days are long and the sun is shining? I know that I do. As of late we have been having nice weather. There is something about the weather changing that just makes me feel fresh and alive! I sure hope in your neck of the woods you are lovin' the weather too!

Speaking of lovin', y'all know how much D&I are in love. There is no question about the relationship we have. Sure its not perfect, but I tell you its a solid one that is full of life, love, happiness, communication, and laughter too!

And because of all that mush, I thought I'd show ya a layout I did recently about us!

I knnoooww. I held on to my Echo Park Be Mine collection for a loooonnng time! But it was well worth it. I loved it so much it was actually hard for me to use it!!! LOL. But it was perfect for this layout and I couldn't resist! And of course I used my favorite stickers, SRM Stickers! I loved the lil' pop of yellow, I couldn't resist!

Today I sure hope if you have a hunny, or sweetie as I call Dayv that you love on them and let them know just how much they mean to you!

p.s. I just wanted to say thank you for your sweet words on my post about Alyssa's birthday. It meant the world to me! Being a parent is SO hard, but SO rewarding and even when we feel like we aren't great parents, we are. The Lord entrusted each of our children into our lives because he knew we needed them!

Happy Birthday Alyssa!!!

I wanted to wish my beautiful daughter a happy birthday today!
Happy Birthday Alyssa!

But there is a kinda a story behind this particular birthday.. You see Alyssa got in trouble 2 weeks ago. It was a pretty big thing to of happened so there had to be a consequence to her actions. So I called Dayv and we discussed what her punishment should be. There were 3 options. 1. Was to not allow her to be in the Alice play. 2. Was no birthday party. 3. Was no Summer church camp. As we talked it through and prayed on it, we realized that taking away the play meant that her consequence was going to hurt the entire play. This punishment was hers. Taking away the church camp was our choice for a bit until we talked and prayed more about it and realized that God cannot take a backseat. So that meant no birthday party.

Well I have to share with you that not having a birthday party for me was probably the hardest because I always go all out for Alyssa's birthday's. Every. Single. Year. But... After praying, we reached this decision together. So we told her. Her response? Oh thank God.. I thought you were going to take away the play! LOL. So no birthday. Life went on and I can tell you though, she'll think twice about getting in trouble like that again I betcha.

So yesterday was here and I was wondering if we should do anything at all for her birthday. I let it go and stuck to my guns. But that was until 2:56am preciously. When I woke Dayv up and asked him to go with me to Walmart. Because what kid wanted to wake up on their birthday and have nothing. Granted we weren't having a party like we normally do, and like I said they are GREAT parties.  Reluctantly Dayv got out of bed and we went to Walmart at the ungodly hour of about 3:15am. There wasn't a soul in sight and we set about getting some decorations for our dining table to at least have something.. We bought balloons, a table decoration, plates and napkins, streamers, an ice cream cake, donuts for breakfast, and itunes gift card. We came home and set about decorating. All the while Alyssa was sleeping and had no clue.

No before you think we went back on our punishment you have to realize that she had her birthday all planned out. Was going to have 2 different sleepovers and activities galore. But as I laid in bed I couldn't help think that having this small celebration wasn't like all of her other 13 birthday parties. Dayv and I finished and actually went back to bed. I got up and raced to work.

Alyssa called and I sang to her. She saw all of her decorations and I detected a bit of tears on the phone with me from it all.

Then I came home from work and we went to lunch. She picked PF Chang's which neither Dayv or Alyssa had eaten at before. It was delicious!!! They loved it and of course I always do!!
I got one good photo since the weather was horrible and nasty out. This is in front of the restaurant.

Then she got ready to go to play rehearsal and that was that.
Now I know.. We actually celebrated and honestly I am glad we did. I cannot imagine turning 14 and not having a single birthday thing happen on my special day and even though we probably will later think back on it and think about the fact that we didn't stick to our guns, I'll be honest. I'm glad we didn't.

I think she was the most thankful of any of her birthday parties to say the least. Not because there was "stuff" there but because not only did she realize the mistakes and choices she made, but because the depth of a parents love knows no bounds.

Happy birthday my dear sweet child! I cannot believe you are 14, but I am SO happy I am a part of your life. I love you more than words could possibly express!
