For the love of art...

I have 4 tattoos.
Some might be surprised.
Some know about them.
Some don't really care.
Some judge me because of it too.
And my response?
I don't really care actually.

You are entitled to what you want to believe.
And also have your opinion too.

But a lot of times people that are Christians feel that
other Christians shouldn't have them.
Like they are a sin.

Let me just share with you a little piece..

"Often, arguments that tattoos are okay for Christians revolve around Christian freedom or the fact that the law of God was fulfilled when Jesus died on the cross. This shuts up most of those who are ready to argue Leviticus 19:28 which says, “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.”

This verse was laid smack dab in the middle of a list of Old Testament Mosaic Laws, most of which were needed during that time for safety or other implications of that era. I always like to take a look at the verse right before the one that says NO TATTOOS for a little eye-opener. Leviticus 19:27 says, “Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.”

Hmm…so we don’t have any problem with people cutting their hair or men trimming their beards, but we are quick to judge those with tattoos or piercings."

-Quoted from Ryan

What we need to realize is that is isn't our jobs to judge.
But it's more about your heart...
Where is your heart?
Either you like tat's or you don't.
But remember if you happen to see someone who has tattoo's, piercings, or anything that you find different, bad, or wrong because they are either walking or not...
God is far more interested in our love for Him and our hearts than weather or not we have some ink on us.
As for me? I want a couple more...
And it's okay.

My 365 # 29 thingy

This is one of my tat's.
It's of pooh. I've had it for a pretty long time.
I still like it!

I totally agree with you...I don't understand why others feel that you shouldn't do something because we have no right to judge each other. I have two tattoos myself and actually just designed and drew my hubby a new tattoo a couple days ago that incorporates our three kids names into it. I'll have to post about that too. TFS yours.

I agree also. I have had a tattoo for years. Of couse it is on my ankle, so when I wear dresses to church I have had the fun little looks. You are right, who are we to judge. We are called NOT to judge others, for whatever measure we judge others, so we will be judged by. That's scary. Yes, I have a tattoo, yes I was young, but don't hold it against me because I wouldn't hold it against you :) KWIM??? Graet Post Elizabeth!!

thanks for sharing! My hubby has some tats and tries to cover them up (one is HUGE and is hard to at times) because he gets the looks as well...I have one that's hidden and keep it from my grandparents because they are old school in their beliefs.

my take is you can't judge by appearances because only God knows what's in your heart.

I hope you don't mind my adding you onto my blog list. I love yours! I kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak when i visit yours, scrappy and some bible inspo! Can't beat that, right?

You go girl preach it :D While I don't have a tat and I don't think I ever would because of the whole needle thing...but I think they are awesome! I see no reason why a Christian shouldn't have one!

I can't believe you have been condemned for having a tattoo in this day and age!! So many "mainstream" people have them, it hardly raises an eyebrow! I don't have one only because I never found a design I loved that much. My hubby almost got a tattoo in Tahiti on our honeymoon, but we ran out of time. They are beautiful, and are different for each region. Some Tahitians have them covering their entire bodies! Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth!
